Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Protherm Production, the producer of boilers and heating equipment operating in Skalica in Slovakia, plans to create about 100 new jobs in 2021. The new positions will be in all areas of production. 50 positions have already been filled, and the rest will be recruited in the year.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the company increased its production by 15% in Skalica factory in 2020. It raised the production of equipment for heating and hot water by 92,000 units on year to 706,000 units. In 2021, the factory plans to raise its production by further 15% and produce 800,000 final products.
At the end of 2020 the factory had more than 700 employees. Protherm Production's products are exported mainly to Russia, Belgium, Germany and Turkey, as well as to other countries such as Algeria.
