Description
After IBM Luxembourg announced the suppression of 38 jobs in March 2021, laborious negotiations between the IBM management and the trade union LCGB finally led to the signature social plan in April 2021. According to the trade union, the management refused to sign an maintaining in employment plan that would have preserved the jobs. The social plan consists mainly of training and outplacement measures, with an extra-statutory financial and social compensation for the employees who have been affected by the restructuring plan.
In December 2020, IBM has announced that it will cut 10,000 jobs at its branches across Europe by the mid-2021as part of a major saving scheme.
