Description
German technical consultant and certification company TÜV Rheinland has announced that it will cut 600 jobs, including 200 jobs in Germany. Around other 400 jobs will be cut, but, so far, there is no information on which countries will be affected.
Administrative positions will be particularly affected, and some roles will be relocated from Germany to the city of Katowice, Poland. The restructuring programme is intended to save a 'mid-double-digit million' amount. The conditions will be negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations.
Rheinland has been operating for over 150 years; the group is one of the world’s largest testing service providers which certifies the safety and quality of products, systems and services around the world. Currently, the group employs over 20,000 people.
