Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Online payments company Stripe will create 1,000 jobs in Dublin over the next 5 years. The new roles will be across a variety of teams, including engineering. The annoucement came after the company had secured an addtional $600 million (€502 million) investment which will be used to develop its European operations as well as its global payments and treasury network. As of April 2021, it is still unknown when the employment effect will take place.
Stripe already employs around 300 staff in Dublin, which is Stripe's fastest-growing international office and is home to a broad range of functions.
