Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish-capital furniture manufacturing company Theca Furniture is to create 200 new jobs in Alytus in 2021. According to the management, the main cause of the expansion is the growing demand for company’s products. If earlier the company could deliver the furniture to customers in three weeks, now it takes around three months.
The company is expecting to employ additional 150 people by June 2021, and the remaining 50 people by the end of 2021. Currently, Theca Furniture employs 275 people in its manufacturing site in Alytus.
Theca Furniture is a Danish manufacturer of contemporary sofas and chairs. The company was established in Lithuania in 2006 and currently has two factories there – in Kaunas and Alytus. In total, Theca Furniture employs 759 employees in Lithuania. The company is exporting its products to more than 50 countries worldwide.
