Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French chain Castorama, specialised in the retail of building materials, announced that it will create over 150 jobs at its new store in Tychy. The store, with a space of 10,000 square meters, is expected to be opened on 24 March 2021.
Castorama Poland is part of the British multinational company Kingfisher which has about 1,200 stores in ten European countries. The company has been operating in Poland since 1997, where it 85 stores and employs over 12,000 people across the country.
In 2019, Castorama announced two business expansions: in March (145 jobs in Elbląg) and May (150 jobs in Bydgoszcz). In 2020, the chain announced four expansions: in February (110 jobs in Włocławek), September (140 jobs in Nowy Sącz), October (130 jobs in Białki near Siedlce) and November (130 jobs in Tychy).
