Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish producer of snacks Perla Polska announced that it will create 400 new jobs at its new production facility in Słupsk. The new plant is expected to be launched in June 2021. It is going to include a fully automated warehouse.
Founded in 2004, Perla Polska is specialised in the production of healthy snacks and antipasti, including hummus, prawns and salads. The company cooperates with the most popular retail chains in Poland and Europe (e.g. Lidl, Biedronka, Tesco, Auchan and Carrefour). The company has a factory near Słupsk, employing 600 people. The production is going to be moved from here to the new plant.
Previous business expansion was announced in June 2020 (100 jobs created).
