Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The cultural and technological products brand FnacDarty has announced a plan to recruit new employees for positions identified as strategic and promising, including 500 permanent employment contract. Among the priority trades targeted by these recruitment campaigns are 200 positions for service technicians specialising in home repair in 2021 to ensure household appliances durability. A total of 500 technicians are expected to be recruited by 2025, at the end of the deployment of Fnac Darty's new strategic plan, 'Everyday'. 150 delivery driver positions are also to be filled in 2021 within FnacDarty, jobs that have once again demonstrated their strategic role in recent months, when, due to the COVID-19 crisis, customers have made extensive use of the fnac.com and darty.com websites to get products delivered. FnacDarty is also planning to hire 150 kitchen designers/vendors to support the development of its Darty Cuisine business, whose plan to open at least 150 shops in the coming years remains a priority as part of its diversification strategy.
The company is also hiring to strenghten its ecommerce and digital presence.
In September 2020, the company announced the recruitment of 500 technicians. In totals the comapny filled 1,500 permanent contract positions in 2020.
