Description
The Romanian subsidiary of the German discount supermarket chain Lidl announced that up to 2,000 new jobs will be created in 20 new stores in Romania by the end of 2021.
Lidl has 289 stores and 5 logistics centres in Romania. In 2021, Lidl intends to expand its self-check-out service across its stores. The retailer is also testing a new store format and will open its sixth logistics centre near Bucharest.
As of January 2021, Liddl has a workforce in Romania of approximately 9,000. Lidl operates in 32 countries worldwide, has over 11,200 stores and 160 logistics centres.
