Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The National Forestry Office (ONF), a French government's body, plans to cut 500 jobs in the framework of the future 2021-2025 contract. This decision is denounced by the employees' representatives. This new reduction in the workforce comes at a time when climate change and forest dieback will require more and more work to ensure the health monitoring and renewal of forest stands.
Two former reorganisations have been recorded in the past: the ONF has announced 226 cuts in 2019 and a previous restructuring was recorded in 2012: 700 job reductions between 2012 and 2016.
