Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sensirion, Swiss sensor manufacturer, is expanding its production capabilities by opening a new site in Hungary. The production unit of is under construction in the Eastern Hungarian town of Debrecen and is planned to start operating in the third quarter of 2021. An initial staff of 50 employees will be recruited, but the personnel will be gradually expanded to 200 by 2025. The overall investment cost is €4 million.
Sensirion is a leading producer of flow and environmental sensors and sensor solutions. The company’s sensors can be found worldwide in cars, medical devices and respirators, among others. The Debrecen plant will be Sensirion’s first European production unit outside Switzerland. A high-value-added and innovative firm, Sensirion will rely on the skilled workforce supplied by the University of Debrecen and the Debrecen Vocational Training Centre.
