The management of the Banque de France announced to the unions, at a meeting, the abolition of 13 of its 37 regional branches by the second half of 2022. Together with the one already being closed, the total will be increased to 14. In total, 135 jobs could thus be lost. These branchesĀ are in charge of recycling and supplying banks and shops in France with banknotes. Twenty years ago, there were aroundĀ 200.
Two former restructuring were recorded in the ERM Database in 2012 with 2,500 job cuts and in 2003 with 2,300 job cuts.
