Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lithuanian wood processing company Juodeliai announced that its new production facility in Marijampole has started operating and that it will employ 100 new staff. The plan to build the new factory was announced in March 2019.
The new packaging elements factory in Marijamople is expected to double the company's production volume by processing up to 1 million m3 of round wood and manufacturing over 500,000 m3 of products. The investments in the new manufacturing site accounted for around €50 million.
Juodeliai is a wood processing company specialised in the production of high-quality wooden pallets. Currently, the company owns three modern factories which employ 536 people.
