Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Czech construction company Technoexport Storage LT is to dismiss 100 employees in its Plunge unit. The company provided this information to the Public Employment Services on 14 January 2021. The company has no orders, thus it is forced to dismiss a large part of its employees. The company has announced it will dismiss welders, assemblers, sanders, painters and other workers. The report submitted by the company to the Lithuanian Registry Centre in 2019 states that the company incurred a net loss of almost €1 million that year.
Technoexport Storage Lt specialises in the production of steel storage tanks, structural steel, stacks and other constructions. The company employs 128 employees in Plunge.
