Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
AccorInvest, a subsidiary and main operator of hotels under the Accor banners, announced the elimination of 1,880 positions in Europe, that is approximately 10% of its workforce, including 767 job cuts in France. In the hotels, 303 jobs will be cut in particular among the floor staff, and 218 others in the catering sector. 136 would be cut in parallel in administrative functions. In addition, 58 jobs in the design, construction and technical department would be cut. First employment impacts will occur after negociation with trade unions are concluded, in the first semester of 2021.
AccorInvest is 30%-owned by the Accor group, which announced 300 job cuts in France in October 2020.
