Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nuuday is a telecommunication service company owned by the Danish telecommunication company TDC. Due to the decline in demand of cable internet connections, TDC has decided to cut staff by 125 employees, who will be dismissed by 19 january. During the next two weeks, TDC will decide which employees will be dismissed. Voluntary resignations or other circumstances might decrease the final number of dismissals in Nuuday. The comapny is offering support measures such as counseling, further education, management training.
Nuuday dismissed 150 employees in April 2020 due to internal restructuring The dismissal was planned to take place earlier but was delayed due to COVID-19.
Nuuday presently has 4,134 employees.
