Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Rimi Lietuva, the Swedish-capital retail company operating in the Baltic States, is to create around 400 new jobs in different regions of Lithuania in 2021. The company has announced plans to open at least 12 new stores and to increase the number of employees in Lithuania by 400.
Rimi Baltic is one of the leading retail chains in the Baltic States. The company employs over 11,200 people in three Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia). It operates four chains – Rimi Hyper, Rimi Super, Rimi Mini and Rimi Express. In Lithuania, Rimi Lietuva operates 58 stores and, at the time of announcement, it employs 3,395 employees in the country.
Updated, 11/04/2021: On 6 April 2021, Rimi Lietuva announced plans to create 500 new jobs (instead of 400) in Lithuania by 31 December 2021.
