Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Link Group, the New Zealand-based global financial services organisation, has announced that is creating 170 jobs in Leeds in the first quarter of 2021. The jobs include a variety of roles from entry-level to senior management, in the Technology & Operations, Funds Solutions and Corporate Markets divisions of the business. The recruitment drive has already started.
A representative of the company said the company was ‘committed’ to the Leeds City Region, which had ‘strong digital infrastructure’ and added that the company was ‘proud’ to be creating jobs for the local community.
The Link Group provides technology-enabled administrative services, including financial services to private and public sector organisations and employs 6,500 people globally. The Group received financial support from the local and the UK government to establish its ‘strategic hub’ in Leeds.
