Description

Finnish airport operator Finavia has concluded co-operation negotiations and announced it will dismiss 110 employees. Currently, there is no available information regarding which airports will be affected among the 21 in Finland where Finavia operates.

As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, passenger activity at the airports operated by Finavia has decreased by 90% in comparison to 2019. In spring 2020, Finavia started a savings program aimed at accumulating €200 million savings by 2023. In addition to announced dismissals, the company has also temporarily laid off large parts of its staff.

According to the CEO of Finavia, the company will provide an 'extensive training package' for the dismissed employees to support their re-employment.

Finavia is a state-owned airport operator, which operates 21 airports in Finland and employs 2,775 people across the country. Finavia's subsidiary Airpro's co-operation negotiations are yet to be concluded. Airpro aims to cut up to 350 jobs.
