Description

The Prague Airport will lay off another 150 employees by the end of 2020 due to this year's huge drop in traffic caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions. The redundancies will mainly affect operational and administrative positions. The airport will thus follow up on the spring wave of redundancies, when 450 employees left the company. During the spring crisis, Prague Airport recorded a loss of passengers of more than 99 percent. During the summer, the number of passengers began to rise to 350,000 in August, but it was still below last year's almost two million. In October, the airport handled around 115,000 passengers, which is 93 percent less year-on-year. The Prague Airport is the most important of the country and in 2019 handled about 17.8 million passengers.
