Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Switzerland-based chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut announced that it will create at least 100 new jobs at its shared services centre in Łódź. The company will be recruiting staff for financial, IT, logistics, transport and quality management departments. The company has just leased an additional office space, expanding its office to over 6,000 square meters.
Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, Barry Callebaut is the world’s leading manufacturer of chocolate and cocoa products. It was created in 1996 through the merging of the Belgian chocolate producer Callebaut and the French company Cacao Barry. Currently, the company has 61 production facilities located in more than 40 countries and employs more than 12,000 people worldwide. The centre in Łódź has been operating for 5 years.
