Description
Young's, the British pub group has announced that it will make 500 staff redundant at its 270 sites in London and the south of England by the end of October.
The chief executive of Young’s said coronavirus restrictions such as the 10 O’clock curfew in pubs and people continuing to work from home presented a major 'challenge' for the business and added that the UK government’s new Job Support Scheme did not provide enough support to employers in the hospitality industry.
Young’s was founded as a brewery in 1831. The company runs a variety of venues from pubs to cocktail bars and employs 4,200 people.
