Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lithuanian-capital online retailer Pigu.lt selling consumer products via Internet is to create around 100 new jobs in Vilnius in 2020. According to the management, in 2020, due to COVID-19 sales increased on average by 40% as compared to 2019. The company has already increased the number of employees in April 2020 (when the quarantine was announced in Lithuania) and currently is looking for 100 more employees. Currently Pigu employs 486 employees in Lithuania.
The Pigu Group owns the online shopping centres Pigu.lt in Lithuania, 220.lv in Latvia and Kaup24.ee in Estonia and is the largest online shopping company in the Baltic States. The company offers nearly 140,000 consumer products, including household appliances, electronics, beauty and fashion, children goods, sports and other goods.
