Description
Fuller, Smith & Turner, the British hospitality company, which owns the Fuller’s pub chain, has announced plans to cut 500 jobs, 10% of its workforce in city centre locations across London and the south east of England. The announcement came after restrictions on pubs and restaurants had been announced in anticipation of a second spike in coronavirus infections.
The company’s chief executive said the job cuts were 'inevitable' and criticised the UK government for making decisions that had a negative effect on pubs, restaurants and hotels.
The company owns and manages 400 pubs and hotels in the UK, with many of them located in London. British hospitality businesses JD Wetherspoon and Whitbread have also announced job cuts recently.
