Description
Brighton Pier group, the British hospitality business has announced that it will cut 200 jobs across the UK as the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme ends while bars and other late-night entertainment venues remain closed due to the COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing rules.
The company said the lack of certainty meant that it could not 'provide any prospect of work' for some of its staff. The chief executive officer called on the government to announce a plan for re-opening late-night venues.
The Brighton Pier Group manages bars, amusement arcades and other attractions at Brighton Palace Pier and a number of mini golf sites, and employs 500 people.
