Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The US-based automotive company Lear Corporation announced that it will cut 460 jobs throughout a collective dismissal programme at its production facility in Jarosław, Poland, by the end of 2020. The programme will be launched in October 2020. The programme is related to the COVID-19 pandemic and a drop-in demand which has affected the automotive sector. The programme was registered at the local employment agency in Jarosław.
Lear Corporation specialises in the production of automotive seating and electrical systems. The company operates in 39 countries worldwide. In Poland, Lear Corporation has been operating for 15 years, employing over 2,100 people.
