Cartwright Group, the British commercial trailers manufacturer, trailer rental and fleet services provider entered administration with a loss of 420 jobs at sites across the UK. Some parts of the Cartwright Group were acquired out of administration, saving 325 jobs, which were transferred to new owners.
The joint administrator said the Group was 'heavily impacted' by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the manufacturing sites closed for several months earlier this year. While the administrators were 'pleased' to have avoided the closure of the Group, they added that the redundancies were regrettable.
The Cartwright Group was founded in 1952 and manufactured commercial trailers. Its head office was in Altrincham, with depots in Leeds and Aldridge in England and Glasgow in Scotland.
