Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Baird Group, the British men’s fashion retailer and wholesaler has announced that it will cut 264 jobs in its retail and distribution teams and close 18 shops across the UK, as well as a warehouse and an office as part of a restructure.
The chief executive said the restructure will enable the group to focus on its online channels and outlet stores and build 'a successful future' despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Baird Group is registered under the name BMB Clothing. It specialises in formal men’s fashion and includes brands Ben Sherman and Suit Direct, as well as men’s tailoring concessions for Debenhams department stores.
