Description
The water treatment plant BWT has called for a savings and restructuring programme, cutting 60 jobs by the end of September 2020 and redistributing or cutting additional jobs, resulting in a total number of 100 affected jobs. The majority of the restructuring will concern the holding company, which employs 350 of the total 800 employees at the site. In addition, the marketing department will be outsourced to its spin-off, Planet Blue Marketing GmbH. 80% of the company's turnover depends on business customers, largely from tourism. The decline in business due to COVID-19 has caused heavy losses. BWT is one of the biggest employers in the region.
