Description
HT Laevateenindus, a ship repair and maintenance company in the Tallink Group, dismissed 150 employees. The dismissals will start in the middle of December 2020. The restructuring is a direct outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic, due to which the tourism sector experiences excessive economic challenges, which also affect support and production activities in the industry.
Currently, there is no information about the involvement of unions.
Tallink Group, which operates in Estonia and other countries, has been heavily impacted by the pandemic; the group announced a big restructuring programme affecting up to 2,000 employees across different subsidiaries.
