Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Chinese multinational home appliances and consumer electronics company Haier announced it will create 700 new jobs at its new Ariceștii Rahtivani plant, near Ploiesti (Prahova County), by the beginning of 2021. The management of the Chinese group announced its intention to move the production of Rosières ovens from Lunery, France to Romania.
The plant is responsible for the production of refrigerators-freezers and it attracted investments amounting to €50 million.
The Lunery plant will be closed by the beginning of 2021 and all 72 employees will be dismissed.
Operational since 1984, the company currently has 122 plants and 108 research and development centres across the world.
