Description
Dutch catering company Albron cuts 100 out of the 5,000 jobs. The company, specialised in catering for company restaurants, has seen the turnover in its company restaurants drop dramatically since many people started working from home as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
Union representatives understand the need for restructuring, stating job cuts are unavoidable and a decent social plan is in place. Albron and employee unions are currently discussing options to find a place for redundant workers in parts of the company which aren't affected by the COVID-19 crisis, such as the catering activities for the healthcare sector and for the recreational sector. In this way, the company aims to reduce the number of forced dismissals to zero.
Albron is a catering company with 5,000 employees at 1,000 different locations in the Netherlands.
