Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Gränges, a Swedish producer of aluminium products, plans to dismiss 75 employees on its production site in Finspång, southeastern Sweden. This plan affects 50 blue-collar workers and 25 white-collar workers.
According to the company, restructuring is needed to adjust to the current market. Gränges argues that COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the company.
According to its website, Gränges has in total 1,800 employees. Approximately 460 of them work on the production site in Finspång.
