Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Drylock Technologies, a global manufacturer of diapers and hygiene products with head office in Belgium, is expanding its production at the Czech site (Hrádek nad Nisou) and will create 100 new jobs by the end of 2020. The firm, which currently employs 750 workers, needs to fill mainly production positions, such as machine adjusters and packers. The growth of the company, which is one of the largest employers in the region, has not been stopped by the COVID-19 crisis. This year they want to increase production by almost a third.
In addition to the Czech Republic, the company has two factories in Russia, two in Brazil and one each in the United States, Italy and Spain. Baby and incontinence diapers and other hygiene items are exported all over the world.
