Description

The Commercial Court of Grenoble has accepted the offer to take over the André shoe retail company by François Feijoo, the brand's former CEO between 2005 and 2013 and former CEO of its competitor Eram.

François Feijoo will become the owner of André from 5 August. He will keep 55 stores out of 188, as well as 221 employees out of 409. 188 employees will, therefore, be made redundant. The André shoe brand was placed in receivership at the beginning of April due to the COVID-19 crisis. François Feijoo was the only declared candidate for the takeover.

The company trade unions faced the announced plan of dismissals manifesting the intention to file a lawsuit against the former proprietor of the company, the retailer Spartoo, alleging that its behaviour during the recent company crisis represented a breach of the employment protection plan signed in 2018.

André is a retail company founded in 1896, operating countrywide through establishments and an e-commerce website.
