Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on 23 July 2020, the German luxury sportswear company Bogner will cut 150 jobs in Germany due to internal restructuring within the next two years. The administration in Munich will be mainly affected by the decision, 80 jobs are to be cut there until mid-2021. Furthermore, Bogner intends to outsource its logistics site in Heimstetten with 70 employees to an external service provider within the next two years. The company had already planned a ‘Performance Programme’ before the COVID-19 crisis. However, the current crisis accelerated the programme’s implementation.
Bogner has 800 employees in Germany.
