Description
BorgWarner is closing its manufacturing plant in Tralee, Co Kerry, which will result in 210 job losses.
The company, which manufactures air heaters, is closing the Kerry site due to a fall in customer demand. The company also cited a group wide restructuring to adapt its cost structure in order to remain competitive in the current environment.
The Kerry plant has been in operation for three decades.
Management said it will engage with staff and their representative union, SIPTU, to ensure 'financial package and supports to the 210 impacted employees, which recognises their service and commitment to BorgWarner Tralee'.
BorgWarner employs 29,000 across 60 sites in 18 countries.
