Description

French catering company Sodexo announced 800 job cuts out of the 3,000 jobs at its Dutch subsidiary. The company is specialised in catering for company restaurants in office buildings, hospitals and universities. As a result of the COVID-19 crisis many people are working from home, causing the turnover in company restaurants tot drop dramatically. Sodexo expects some business recovery over the next months or years, but a return to pre-pandemic levels seems unlikely. A temporary social plan is in place to guide employees towards a new job. Employee organisations are currently consulting with their members to form an opinion on the social plan.
