Description
Finnish multinational electronic component manufacturer Scanfil announced its plans to close down its factory in Hamburg. Around 120 employees will be affected by the closure. The company stated in a press release that it seeks to streamline its production and the Hamburg site was not profitable. Therefore, production was concentrated in Wutha-Farnroda (Germany) and Sieradz (Poland). The company has taken up talks with employee representatives at the factory. Talks are still ongoing and there are no further details on the exact timeframe. The company seeks to save around €2.5 million annually with this measure.
