Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The engineering and aerospace company Sener has announced the collective layoff plan affecting 110 workers divided between its work centers in Getxo (Vizcaya), Tres Cantos (Madrid) and Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona), not affecting this to his workplace in Valencia. The Sener group has a staff of 1,600 employees in Spain (2,300 worlwide). The company says that the delay in some projects and the cancellation of others have caused the decision. This announcement comes after Sener achieved € 21.6 million in profits and reached a staff of 2,308 workers in 2018.
