Description
UBER, a multinational company specialising in transport and home delivery, dismisses 160 workers from its call center in Lisbon, which provides customer service in different parts of the world. The decision was communicated by videoconference, as it had occurred in other countries. The workers covered by the dismissal are from different nationalities and correspond to 42% of Uber workers in the city.
The main reason given by the company's management is the impact of COVID-19 and its unpredictability. The company states that the company is in a restructuring process, concentrating its efforts on the main mobility and delivery platforms.
