Samsonite, an international producer and retailer of luggage and suitcases has announced it will be restructuring its facilities at Oudenaarde (Netherlands) and in Hungary. In total 94 employees will be facing collective dismissal and 66 jobs will be cut through natural departures at Oudenaarde, on a total workforce of 770 employees. In addition, 66 temporary contacts will not be prolonged. In Hungary, the reorganisation will lead to 200 job cuts. The company has been facing difficulties for a while but now has to cop with a sharp drop of sales related to the COVID-19 crisis.
