Description
Compass Group, a multinational food service company (the largest in the world), has announced restructuring measures for its division in Belgium. In total approximately 550 jobs are at risk. The company management states that because of the current COVID-19 crisis, the company has suffered significant losses and needs to restructure. The company is specialized in the catering provision for company and school restaurants, the care sector as well as (sporting) events. A lot of their customer base has been shut or locked down as a result of the crisis. The local trade union representation is very critical of the way the company management is dealing with the difficulties the company is currently in.
