Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The producer of automotive components GKN Driveline Poland, a subsidiary of the British GKN group, will cut 100 jobs through a collective dismissal programme at its production facility in Oleśnica. The conditions of the programme were negotiated with the local trade unions, and redundant workers will receive severance pay. The programme is related to the COVID-19 pandemic; it was registered by the company at the local employment agency in Oleśnica.
As the source reports, the company will cut 200 vacancies for temporary agency workers, which implies that in total 300 positions will be cut at the facility.
GKN Driveline has been operating in Poland since 1999. The company provides its products to such brands as Volvo, Fiat, VW, Toyota, PSA and Ford.
