Hotel Metropole, a famous Belgian 5-star hotel in Brussels has announced it will terminate its operations. The hotel has been facing difficulties for several years, mainly after the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels, as a result of building works to pedestrianise the area around the hotel. In addition, the independent luxury hotel was the subject of ongoing legal disputes. For the last five years, the hotel has been loss-making. The current Corona crisis was the final straw according to the company management, after a promising start of 2020.
