Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The French retail clothing company Camaïeu will cut 141 jobs at its stores in Katowice, Poland. The company undertook this restructuring programme as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, as currently all stores in shopping centres are closed under the Anti-Pandemic Scheme. In accordance with the national law on collective dismissal programme, the restructuring programme was registered by the company in the local employment agency in Katowice.
Camaïeu manufactures and sells its collections of women’s clothing. The chain operates in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, Marocco, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Spain.
