Iberdrola, the Spanish multinational electric utility company, announced the creation of 5,000 new jobs during 2020. The group will accelerate investments as soon as possible to contribute to economic activity and promote employment, implementing required safety and sanitary measures. The president of the company appealed for responsibility and collaboration to mitigate the effects of the crisis caused by the coronavirus. The company expects to reach €10 billion of investments.
About 50% of the new full-time positions will be created in Brazil, a company spokesman said, but there will be increases in all its main markets, which also include the United States, Britain, Mexico and Spain.
