Description
Restaurant chain Amber Food dismissed around 157 employees in Kaunas in the period from 20 February 2020 to 30 March 2020. The main cause of the dismissals is the quarantine regime in Lithuania. To control the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Lithuanian Government declared quarantine on the entire territory of the Republic of Lithuania as of 16 March 2020.
Earlier in January 2020, the company announced that consolidated turnover of the Amber Food Group reached €37 million in 2019, that is 10% higher compared to the previous year. The company had plans to invest €1.8 million and to open 9 new restaurants in Lithuania in 2020.
