Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Brano Group, a Czech manufacturer of automotive parts, has recently dismissed about 100 agency workers due to the coronavirus outbreak and the temporary closure of car manufacturers in the Czech Republic. Of the 2,400 Brano Group staff in the Czech Republic, around 2,100 are already or will be home from next week. According to the chairman of the Board, Pavel Juříček, the company expects sales to fall by at least CZK 1.5 billion (€ 55 million). In 2019, sales revenues amounted to CZK 6.7 billion (€ 254 million).
