Description
As announced on 14. February 2020, the car manufacturer Porsche will add a third shift in the manufacturing process from August 2020, at its plant in Leipzig, which will result in the recruitment of 400 to 500 temporary workers. In August 2019 Porsche discarded its night shift due to low demand in China, which resulted in the loss of a comparable number of jobs. However, due to the high demand for the SUV model Macan, an increase in the workforce is considered inevitable. The night shift will initially be limited to one year, however, the situation will be reevaluated in 2021.
Currently, Porsche has 4,500 employees at its plant in Leipzig.
